Below is the criteria for DEI Trailblazer category:

1. Innovation (25%)

  • Introduces or implements creative, original approaches, tools or programmes that promote DEI (for example novel outreach, inclusive design, accessibility solutions or new representation models).
  • Challenges conventional practices and helps foster inclusive thinking in the organisation or community.
  • Leverages collaborations, technology or non-traditional methods to advance inclusion and equity.

2. Impact (25%)

  • Demonstrates measurable outcomes such as improved representation, reduced bias, improved access, better belonging or policy change.
  • Shows evidence that the DEI initiative has scaled or has sustainable potential beyond a pilot.
  • Positively affects employees, community members or stakeholders from marginalised or under-represented groups.

3. Leadership (25%)

  • Champions inclusive values and sets strategic direction for DEI within their organisation, team, or field.
  • Inspires, mentors or supports others (including those from under-represented backgrounds) to engage in DEI work.
  • Advocates for systemic change and holds themselves accountable for inclusive outcomes.

4. Resilience (25%)

  • Demonstrates perseverance and commitment in the face of resistance, resource limitations, structural barriers, or societal change.
  • Adapts DEI strategies to evolving contexts (e.g., cultural shifts, regulatory changes, crisis environments) while maintaining focus on equity.
  • Maintains long-term dedication to fostering inclusion, even when immediate results are hard to measure or achieve.
